Scenic colors might warrant a color scheme with blues like the ocean or whites like the snow. Local architecture might influence a more modern design in the city with skyscrapers or a more casual country style in a small town.

All of this said, that does not mean that you HAVE to have a certain style if you live in a certain place. It just means if you don't know where to start that you can have inspiration from the things around you. I believe that every ones home should be a unique reflection of themselves and completely original. Believe me, there are so many things out there to choose from that you won't have trouble having a home that is different from your neighbors but it is nice to have some cohesiveness in a community.
